The awards feature seven bacon categories and three ham categories, ensuring every cut and curing style has its moment to shine. Bacon is a true Kiwi staple, essential with your weekend brunch, wrapped around a prune, scattered through mac’n cheese or tucked into the classic bacon sarnie. Ham is just as versatile. We love it on pizzas, in sandwiches and of course, nothing beats the comfort of a hearty ham and cheese toastie. With their popularity, it’s only fitting that a competition exists to crown the very best bacon and ham in Aotearoa.
We were absolutely thrilled to be recognised at this year’s awards. Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we took home not one, but two People’s Choice Awards, for both bacon and ham! It means the world to us that you love our products as much as we love making them. And to top it all off, we were honoured to be named Category Champion for Reuben’s Middle Eye Bacon. 🥇
But the celebration doesn’t stop there. It’s not just our bacon and ham that have been taking centre stage, our sausages have also been winning over judges. At the 2024 Dunninghams Great New Zealand Sausage Competition, our team proudly walked away with an impressive 10 medals, the most awarded producer in the competition. It’s a true testament to the passion, teamwork and dedication that goes into every recipe we craft.
