Our bacon won GOLD!

We’re proud to share that our Dry Cured Streaky Bacon won GOLD at the 2022 100% New Zealand Bacon & Ham Awards! 🥓✨
After a three-year break, this prestigious competition came back stronger than ever, with 176 entries across seven bacon and two ham categories. Every product was made from 100% New Zealand born and raised pork, and judged over two days by a panel of butchers and culinary experts. Each entry was carefully inspected, cooked and sampled before medals were awarded, so taking home gold is a huge honour.
The awards evening was held at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in Auckland, where over 130 people, including medallists, sponsors and industry personnel gathered to celebrate. Guests sampled a selection of the winning products as part of the entrée platters before the medallists and Supreme Award winners were announced.

For us, this award is recognition of the craft and care that goes into making our bacon. Reuben has honed his process over the years with a commitment to traditional techniques, locally sourced ingredients and meticulous attention to detail. Dry curing takes time, but the result is bacon with incredible depth of flavour, the perfect balance of salt and sweetness and a crisp finish in the pan.
We’re delighted to see our streaky bacon recognised alongside the best in the country, and even more excited to share it with you. Whether it’s sizzling away for your Sunday breakfast, piled into a classic BLT or wrapped around chicken, this is bacon worth celebrating.
