Sharing Kai, Kindness and Community: Our Work with Fair Food

At Aussie Butcher New Lynn, giving back is part of who we are. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to partner with Fair Food, an amazing organisation that rescues surplus food and redistributes it to people in need across Tāmaki Makaurau.

Each week, the Fair Food team and their incredible volunteers sort, pack and deliver fresh, nutritious food to community groups, transitional housing, women’s refuges and more. It’s a powerful mission: reducing food waste while making sure good kai goes where it’s needed most.

As both a business partner and ambassador, Reuben has seen firsthand the impact this mahi has. So we were absolutely stoked (and a bit humbled!) to be named Fair Food’s Substantial Food Donor of the Year. It’s an honour that means a lot – not just because of the award, but because it represents the values we care about most: community, dignity and shared meals.

A huge shout-out to the Fair Food whānau and all the volunteers who work so hard behind the scenes. You’re the real heroes – we’re just proud to play a small part.
