Auckland's Aussie Butcher New Lynn has once again proven its sausage-making prowess at the 2025 Dunninghams Great New Zealand Sausage Competition, one of New Zealand’s premier events celebrating the skill, creativity and craftsmanship of Kiwi butchers.
The 28th annual competition attracted an impressive 814 entries across 13 categories, with butchers from across the nation eager to showcase their culinary expertise. Retail Meat New Zealand hosted a ‘Sausage Mixer’ at Auckland’s Wynyard Pavilion, a lively event where the winners were announced and celebrated. The evening provided an opportunity for industry professionals and sponsors to sample a selection of medallist sausages, highlighting the incredible talent present in New Zealand’s butchery community.
